1. Who We Are

PolyBet operates the prediction-markets interface you are using. For privacy requests, contact [email protected] (placeholder for this deployment).

If a separate data controller is designated for your region, that entity will be identified in onboarding or account settings.

2. Data We Collect

Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect:

  • Account data: email, display name, password hashes or auth provider IDs.
  • Identity data (when KYC is enabled): ID images, address proofs, verification status.
  • Wallet / payment data: public wallet addresses, deposit references, limited payment metadata from processors.
  • Trading data: orders, positions, fills, balances, device/session IDs tied to activity.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP, cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications: support tickets, emails, and in-app messages you send us.

3. How We Use Data

We process personal data to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Platform.
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud, abuse, and financial crime.
  • Comply with AML/KYC, sanctions, tax, and other legal obligations.
  • Communicate service notices, security alerts, and (with consent where required) product updates.
  • Analyze aggregated usage to improve UX and market discovery.

4. Legal Bases (where GDPR applies)

Processing may rely on: performance of a contract; legitimate interests (security, product improvement, fraud prevention); legal obligation (AML retention); and consent (certain cookies or marketing), which you may withdraw.

5. Cookies & Similar Tech

We use essential cookies for sessions, preferences (e.g. theme, language), and security. Analytics cookies, if used, will be disclosed and controlled where required by law.

You can control cookies through browser settings; disabling essentials may break login or locale persistence.

6. Sharing & Processors

We may share data with:

  • Infrastructure and hosting providers.
  • KYC / identity verification vendors.
  • Payment and blockchain infrastructure partners.
  • Analytics providers (aggregated or pseudonymized where feasible).
  • Professional advisors and authorities when legally required.

7. International Transfers

Data may be processed in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.

8. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including mandatory AML retention periods. Marketing consents are honored until withdrawn. Backup copies expire on rotating schedules.

9. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise rights, email [email protected] with enough detail to verify your identity. We respond within timelines required by law.

10. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to risk (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Children

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, contact us for deletion.

12. Third-Party Links & Market Data

The Platform may link to third-party sites or embed third-party charts/data. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change, and significant updates may be communicated in-product.

14. Contact

Privacy requests: [email protected]. Security vulnerabilities: report responsibly via the same channel with “[Security]” in the subject line.
